Adina Munich's open-air conservatory and terrace will be on the 15th floor.

The expansion across Europe of the Adina Apartment Hotels brand continues apace, with TFE Hotels confirming the opening of its newest location in the German city of Munich will take place in October.

Adina Apartment Hotel Munich will be the brand’s largest across the continent and forms part of a major urban regeneration in the city’s new Werksviertel-Mitte district, a former industrial site which has been converted to a thriving business and leisure district featuring a strong corporate presence, concert hall and a multitude of tourist and recreational attractions.

Situated within a mixed-use development, Adina Hotel Munich will be Europe’s largest at 234 keys and will occupy levels 9-24, with views over the city and nearby alpine region, including flocks of sheep grazing on grassy rooftops of neighbouring businesses.

Adina Munich will feature 234 apartment-style keys.

Guest facilities will include an open-air conservatory and terrace bar on the 15th floor, along with a fitness and wellness centre, sauna and 12-metre indoor swimming pool.

The hotel rooms have been designed by local studio AFK, while public spaces have been crafted by interior designer Michaelis Boyd, who has incorporated high-end timber, marble, soft fabric and leather finishes to dress the concrete columns and steel façade.

TFE Hotels Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, said the Adina Hotel Munich offered a range of firsts and the hotel would be a welcome addition to the growing brand’s presence in Germany and wider Europe.

An indoor swimming pool will complement the hotel’s fitness and wellness facilities.

“The existing potato silo building – a part of the old Pfanni potato dumpling plant that was on the site – has been integrated into the overall design of the precinct, and the Adina, which sits on top of the old silo, stands over 86 metres high,” Sedgwick said.

“The fact that this Adina Hotel has been built on top of a climbing hall in a former silo is certainly unique and will definitely be a talking point for guests.”

The Adina Apartment Hotels brand has been on a steady growth trajectory in recent years under the careful watch of regional CEO, Simon Betty, recently opening doors in the Austrian capital of Vienna and the German city of Cologne, while Wiesbaden, Stuttgart and Dusseldorf are yet to come. Further expansion in Switzerland is also on the cards in coming years.
