L-R Sam Farrington and Andrea Donaghy

Event Hospitality has installed two new faces from within its own ranks to lead two of its newest additions to the Independent Collection in South Australia and Queensland.

Moving from Rydges Pit Lane at The Bend Motorsports Park in Adelaide, Sam Farrington will now take the wheel of three adjacent properties at South Terrace in the South Australian capital. The three properties joined the Independent Collection back in May, with the first – The Sage – now in operation. Two others, which will be unveiled over the coming year, are in various stages of a major renovation and refurbishment project.

The Sage was the first rebranded property introduced by Event Hospitality’s as part of the South Terrace trio in Adelaide.

All three properties in the South Terrace collective are owned by the same entity – 208 South Terrace Pty Ltd – with Farrington overseeing all three as they progressively enter service.

“Come 2022 we will have three distinct product offers at South Terrace, including a new flagship property and food and beverage offering,” Farrington said.

“This is an exciting time for the city and a unique leadership opportunity for me professionally. I look forward to working with my teams to bring three very different, but complementary new independent hotel brands to life.”

In Queensland, Event Hospitality has welcomed Andrea Donaghy as General Manager at the new Kennigo Hotel Brisbane, with the new property opening to guests yesterday.

Donaghy moves to her new role from Park Hotel Brisbane and brings extensive experience within Event Hospitality having opened or rebranded hotels including Rydges Newcastle, Atura Blacktown and Atura Adelaide Airport.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for the property as we reopen to the public while also working on a vibrant new food and beverage offer, which will be revealed in the coming months and has been designed to appeal to travellers and locals alike,” Donaghy said.
