The final piece of the Crystalbrook Collection puzzle in Cairns has been completed with the much-anticipated opening of Flynn – the brand’s third new five-star hotel in the North Queensland city.

Originally slated to open in April but pushed back by the pandemic, the hotel is now welcoming guests to its 311 rooms, many of which overlook the Coral Sea. Guest facilities include two glass swimming pools, 24-hour fitness centre and Eleme Day Spa.

Guests and visitors can also make use of Boardwalk Social – one of the property’s two main eateries – which opened in January. The hotel’s signature restaurant – Flynn’s Italian – is due to open in the coming months alongside the Whiskey and Wine Bar which will feature both domestic and imported blends with a modern Australian snack menu.

Flynn features 311 rooms, many overlooking the Coral Sea.

Crystalbrook is now a complete stable in Cairns, with Flynn operating alongside Riley, which opened in late 2018, followed a year later by Bailey and all located within a few minutes’ walk from each other.

The company’s CEO and Group Director, Geoff York, said Crystalbrook was ready to welcome Australians back to the Sunshine State after a tumultuous year.

“Crystalbrook Collection is an integral part of the cultural landscape of Cairns, and we are thrilled to complete the trio in Far North Queensland with the opening of Flynn,” says Geoff York, CEO and Group Director of Crystalbrook Collection.

Boardwalk Social at Flynn is one of the new hotel’s headline F&B attractions.

“With the hope that all Australians will be welcome in Queensland by Christmas, the opening of Flynn is part of our ongoing commitment to support and invest in the Australian tourism industry.”

Area Manager, Joel Gordon, said it was fantastic to see the property come to life.

“Flynn as a personality truly is the place to be and be seen, and we are ready to welcome all Australian’s to our beautiful part of the world,” he said.
