Four Seasons Hotel Sydney is expanding its product offering with the launch of an artisan cake collection, available for purchase by the general public.

Handcrafted by the hotel’s Head Pastry Chef, Quentin Zerr, using French techniques with Australian flavours, the Art of Cake Collection offers an assortment of cakes for at-home consumption.

Through an online ordering system on the hotel’s website, consumers can choose from six cakes on offer, with the option to personalise, and select a date and time to pick up from the hotel.

Designed to offers something new and different to locals and guests, the collection brings the Four Seasons brand to a wider audience and adds an additional revenue stream into the business.

“With the Art of Cake Collection, we wanted to tap into a market that currently doesn’t exist within hotels of a similar calibre and location to Four Seasons Hotel Sydney,” Zerr told HM.

“Our aim was to create a well thought out collection with its own identity, that is based on quality craftsmanship, unique designs and Australian-inspired flavours to offer the familiar but in an exciting new way.”

While the offering wasn’t directly targeted at hotel guests, it has caught the attention of many since launching.

“Our aim was to appeal to local Sydneysiders who aren’t necessarily guests of the hotel, that are looking to experience iconic Four Seasons Service, and get to know the brand at an accessible price point.

“That being said, we are also finding a number of orders coming from guests staying with us.

“The feedback has been wonderful.”

The Art of Cake Collection includes mixed berry Pavlova, French Saint Honoré, Framboisier, Chocolate Cake, Seasonal Fruit Tart and Lemon Meringue Tart with each presented in luxurious pink packaging.

“When a customer arrives to collect their cake, they are greeted either by myself or another Chef from the team and presented the cake in our beautiful packaging for a real ‘Wow’ moment,” Zerr said.

“The top comments we get relate to the presentation, from the design of the cake itself to the bold pink packaging and creative design elements, then it’s all about the taste – beautiful and delicious, what more could you ask for?”

“We look forward to seeing how the cakes are received ongoingly, especially in the lead up to the festive season.”
