Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is introducing a range of art-inspired experiences to celebrates 20 years of its partnership with the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Over the last two decades the hotel has served as its official hotel partner, and sponsored major programs and exhibitions, including the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes.

“This significant milestone fills us with immense pride as we reflect on two decades of providing cultural enrichment and entertainment to our valued guests, elevating their experiences during their visits to Sydney,” said Sofitel Sydney Wentworth General Manager, Sam Panetta.

“Renowned as the ‘Hotel of the Arts’, we couldn’t be prouder to partner with the Art Gallery NSW and its commitment to artistic excellence which has become an integral part of our hotel’s identity, creating a seamless fusion of art and hospitality.”

In honour of the Archibald Prize exhibition, which opened on May 6, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s High Tea experience takes inspiration from the Packing Room Prize 2023 winning portrait, Clown jewels – by first-time Archibald Prize finalist and Cairns-based artist Andrea Huelin.

The Archibald-inspired High Tea menu features traditional high tea treats with fanciful French touches that bring the colour and joy of the painting to life.

The hotel lobby also has previous Archibald Prize winners’ portraits from the past 20 years on display for guests and members of the public to enjoy.

“We are truly excited to continue our support for this incredible partnership and extend our deepest gratitude to the Art Gallery of NSW for their continuous dedication, vision, and tireless efforts in fostering the arts,” Panetta added.

The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth will also introduce new offers and experiences in summer when the Sydney International Art Series brings the works of artists Louise Bourgeois and Vasily Kandinsky to Sydney.
