QT Gold Coast has revealed its newly transformed conference and events spaces and accommodation, the first phase of a wider hotel renovation that is due to be completed this summer.

QT, which is known for its design-led properties, expects this five-star hotel to serve as the “ultimate designer playground” for conference and events.

“With every development, we will continuously bring QT to the forefront of hospitality and tourism,” said QT Hotels and Resorts Group General Manager, Callum Kennedy.

The QT Ballroom

“QT Gold Coast’s redevelopment is a complete reinvention in functionality, design and technology. It is evolving with the city’s coming of age, as the best place to meet on the global stage.”

QT’s design team collaborated with longstanding partner and award-winning designer, Nic Graham, on the project, which celebrates the area’s rich beach culture.

New-look conferences spaces

On the ground floor, The QT Ballroom offers 598 sqm of pillarless space with 6-metre-high ceilings. Up to 650 guests can be catered for and the room can be arranged into six different configurations. A 50-inch screen can livestream any event taking place in The QT Ballroom.

On level one, The Sunset Rooms can be divided into two intimate spaces with treetop views with nearby Sunset Lounge and Sunset Bridge also serving as pre- and post-event hosting or breakout rooms.

The Malibu Room

Inspired by Venice Beach subculture, the Longboard, North Break and South Break meeting rooms on level two feature an industrial design and enjoy an abundance of natural light.

Also on level two, The Malibu room has been extended onto the outdoor space to provide an al fresco dining space, complete with wood-fire oven, smoker, and Argentinian grill. Guests can also opt to use spacious lawn area, The Landing.

All conference and events spaces include state-of-the-art technology such as hearing loop technology to cater to hearing-impaired delegates, and audio streaming via Wi-Fi to guests’ smartphones.

Reimagined rooms

Each of the hotel’s 293 guest rooms and suites have been reimagined with the spirit of Santa Monica. Bold and contemporary colours dominated the refreshed colour palette with black and white, vibrant orange and fresh turquoise. Modernised vintage imagery by Kate Ballis adorns the walls.

Guests can enjoy luxurious touches such as designer Missoni bathrobes, Kevin Murphy bathroom product and QT Dream Beds.

Refreshed Deluxe Ocean View room

In-room technology upgrades include Dyson bathroom amenities and a QT tablet offering digital guest services, as well as sensory and energy-saving climate control.

Leisure upgrades at the hotel include the addition of a new gym, kitted out with Life Fitness smart equipment, and The Spring, a refreshed poolside precinct where lush greenery and tropical textiles bring a splash of colour to the minimalist palette. On The Green lawn, a 185sqm metre Palm Springs-style outdoor space is also available for up to 150 guests.
