Hilton’s iconic luxury hotel brand Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is set to make its debut Down Under with the signing of Waldorf Astoria Sydney.

Construction has already commenced on the 28-floor, luxury hotel which is expected to open in early 2025.

Waldorf Astoria Sydney will be part of mixed-use development One Circular Quay, at 1 Alfred Street — a prime harbourside location that will offer guests expansive views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

The 220-key hotel, comprised of 179 guest rooms and 41 suites, is the first for the brand in Australasia, joining six other Waldorf Astoria properties in the Asia Pacific region. Globally, the portfolio has 30+ hotels in operation with 20 more in the pipeline.

The brand’s reputation globally for personalised service and world-class culinary excellence is expected to make it a popular attraction in Sydney’s CBD.

Tokyo-based firm Kengo Kuma and Associates and Sydney-based Crone Architects will oversee the architecture of the hotel, ‘artfully blending contemporary living with cutting-edge design’.

The luxury hotel will include two original restaurant concepts, a rooftop bar with habour views, and a spa on level one.

Peacock Alley, a signature space at Waldorf Astoria properties, will serve as a ‘central gathering place’ and feature the iconic Waldorf Astoria clock.

The Sydney hotel will offer dedicated Personal Concierges to cater to guests during their stay.

The One Circular Quay development includes an adjoining 61-level luxury apartment tower and is close to the city’s major shopping and tourist destinations.
