TFE Hotels has named an all-female line-up as the opening General Managers for its new high-end apartment living brand, A by Adina, with the brand rapidly making its mark on the hotel landscape.

The first of the brand’s two opening hotels – A by Adina Canberra – opened in February, led by Wollongong native Jelena Bojanic, who began her career with Adina Hotels eight years ago while completing her Bachelor of Commerce.

In that time with TFE Hotels, Bojanic has climbed the ranks through Reservations, Duty Manager and Relief General Manager roles at Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Airport, Adina Sydney Central and The Calile Hotel in Brisbane before relocating to Canberra to take up her previous role at Hotel Kurrajong Canberra.

“I’ve fallen in love with Canberra, Bojanic said.

“It’s a vibrant city that has everything you could wish for and more. Close enough to everywhere, but also an escape like no other.”

Bojanic began her role as A by Adina Canberra General Manager with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new property, held alongside Canberra Airport CEO, Stephen Byron.

Further north, A by Adina’s second location in the Sydney CBD is on track to open at the end of April, with experienced hotel leader, Amanda Cottome, at the helm.

Cottome’s appointment at A by Adina Sydney marks a full-circle for her career, as she began her hotel industry life as a telephonist at the nearby Travelodge Hotel Sydney Wynyard in the 1990s.

“It was just before the days of mobile phones, and my role was to operate a digital switchboard and transfer all calls It’s funny, I’m standing here now, and what occurs to me is I’ve come full circle,” she said.

The A by Adina Sydney GM says the new hotel brand defies traditional logic for hospitality, where guests have the ultimate freedom to redefine the house rules to suit individual needs, travel purpose and style.

“A premium stay-your-way blend of hotel and apartment living, where no detail, service or amenity is overlooked,” Cottome added.

“Our promise is that guests will ‘arrive expected’ and instantly feel a deep sense of belonging, where everything feels intuitively right.”

A by Adina Sydney will open to guests next Monday, 26 April.
