Wyndham Destinations Asia-Pacific has installed new and highly experienced General Managers at two of its properties in regional NSW and Victoria, with both moves now in effect.

At Ramada Resort by Wyndham Shoal Bay, near Port Stephens, the company has welcomed Nik Commons, who moves to the region with more than two decades in the hospitality sector, working with brands including Novotel, Shangri-La and the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Cairns. Commons comes to the role from his most recent position as Hotel Manager for Sunlover Reef Cruises.

The 201-room Ramada Resort by Wyndham Shoal Bay features both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an on-site restaurant, day spa, fitness centre and a variety of meeting and event spaces. The property is one of 65 across the Asia Pacific region overseen by Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific and is shared by permanent residents and apartments owned by the Club Wyndham timeshare club.

Elsewhere, Cameron Jeffery has joined Wyndham Torquay in Victoria, moving across from his past role as GM at Stamford Plaza Adelaide. Jeffery is no stranger to Victoria, having managed properties for Aria Hotel and Apartments in Melbourne and also having spent nearly a decade with Accor.

Located across from Zeally Bay Beach on the Great Ocean Road, Wyndham Torquay features a variety of hotel rooms along with one and two-bedroom apartments. The property offers multiple food and beverage facilities, lagoon swimming pool, tennis court and BBQ areas. There are also a number of private residences on-site.

Wyndham Destinations Asia-Pacific Senior Vice President Operations, Warren Cullum, praised both new General Manager appointments, saying both have the required skill sets to improve the customer experience.

“Having spent the last decade managing accommodation in Cairns, Nick knows what is required to provide personalised holiday experiences for travellers and is adept at ensuring his team delivers exceptional service so guests feel right at home,” Mr Cullum said.

“With years of experience managing properties with body corporate and strata set-ups, Cameron is the perfect fit for Wyndham Torquay,” he added.
