Thirty-year hotel sector veteran, Wayne Taranto, has returned to the industry in a new role as Director of Operations for the Ovolo Group.
In his new position, Taranto will oversee and be responsible for operations across Ovolo’s portfolio of hotels in Australia, including properties in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne, with the latter to introduce a third location in 2021 in the form of Ovolo South Yarra.
Taranto’s career to date includes nearly two decades with Event Hospitality and also time with Accor, where he is a former General Manager of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. Most recently, he served as the Director of Hotels at Crown Group Holdings, overseeing the rise of the Skye Suites brand. His return to hospitality with Ovolo comes after a year outside of the sector.
Speaking of his new role, Taranto said he was thrilled to be part of a group renowned for excellence.
