Ovolo South Yarra has been opened to guests.

Described as “a place where retro chic and pop-art meet”, Ovolo Group has unveiled the first renderings of the brand’s third hotel in Victoria, which is on track to open to guests in the first quarter of 2021.

Announced at the 2020 Australasian Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE), headline sponsored by Hostplus and Intrust Super, the new Ovolo South Yarra will feature 123 rooms and suites decorated in the style of 1970’s rock music and pop culture. Chrome and colour, along with retro-plush, will decorate each room, with four upper-tier suites to be named after four of the era’s most famous rock legends.

The hotel will be Ovolo’s second presence in the Victorian capital.

Located on the corner of Toorak Road and Chapel Street in South Yarra, guests will experience an injection of colourful energy infused in the form of graphic wallpapers, bespoke joinery pieces and pattern-heavy furnishings.

Ovolo Group Founder and CEO, Girish Jhnujhnuwala, said Ovolo South Yarra will be the furthest thing from an ordinary hotel.

“Ovolo South Yarra will set the scene for an extraordinary hotel experience embodying Ovolo’s philosophy of connecting with its customers emotionally and will complement the local cultural scene through its art, design and unique restaurant concept.

“We are excited to see this hotel come to life alongside our other development in Bali, Mamaka By Ovolo.”
