HMTV Exclusive: Virgin Australia’s new Cairns flights boosting Far North Queensland hotels

Virgin Australia’s reinstated Sydney-Cairns flights are providing a massive boost for Far North Queensland’s hotels and tourism operators.

The airline resumed Boeing 737-800 flights on Monday July 13 from Sydney to Cairns and after no New South Wales visitors for several months, the region is ready to get back to business.

Speaking exclusively on camera to HM and Wayfarer Editor-In-Chief, James Wilkinson, in Cairns soon after the first direct flight landed this week, Tourism Tropical North Queensland General Manager, Rosie Douglas, said the return of Virgin’s interstate flights was just what the region needed.
