Catering to domestic travellers will be a key focus of the Destination NSW webinars.

A series of free online webinars will be conducted by Destination NSW to help tourism businesses adapt to selling exclusively to the domestic market and work with different distribution partners.

Free to participate, the webinars are backed by a number of digital training toolkits providing more information and case studies on selling to domestic travellers and maximising the reach of products and services through e-commerce. The series is part of Destination NSW’s industry development program known as ‘NSW First’.

Interactive webinars will discuss topics including leveraging the ‘Love NSW’ campaign with TripAdvisor and Viator; how the travel agent commission model works; creating effective trade fact sheets and working alongside accredited Visitor Information Centres.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Steve Cox, said the program was an important step as the state’s tourism businesses continue their recovery.

“The Restart Series are webinars addressing the pressing issues facing our industry right now such as how to attract customers in the domestic market which is important for operators who have previously focused on international visitors,” he said.

“The Discuss and Develop Your Business sessions are practical sessions where operators can hear directly from Destination NSW’s industry development team and guest speakers.”
