Oaks Toowoomba will continue the revitalisation of Ruthven Street.

Toowoomba will become home to the newest member in the Oaks Hotels network, the company has announced, with a nine-storey complex currently under construction in the southern Queensland city.

Occupying the former Gladstone Hotel on Kwong Sang Walk, the 102-room Oaks Toowoomba Hotel will further progress the Garden City’s ongoing CBD modernisation, with the property expected to be open to guests from the first quarter of 2020.

Rooms at the new Oaks will be self-contained with a kitchenette, while guests will also have access to a lap swimming pool, fitness centre, café and meeting facilities. A public bar will sit at street level below the hotel.

Oaks Hotels Chief Operating Officer – Australia and New Zealand, Craig Hooley, said market demand had driven the brand to act on establishing its maiden presence in the southwest Queensland city.

“We identified Toowoomba as an attractive expansion opportunity, lending to a number of major infrastructure projects currently underway in the region, including the Wellcamp Airport, Second Range Crossing Project, and Inland Rail Project.

“This significant infrastructure investment, paired with ongoing growth across various industries, represents great confidence in the region’s economy, and an appetite for additional accommodation options,” Hooley added.
