The parade of new hotel brands steaming into Auckland is continuing with QT Hotels & Resorts today becoming the latest marque to declare it will open a new hotel in New Zealand’s largest city.

An agreement between Event Hospitality & Entertainment with the Russell Property Group and Lockwood Property Group will see QT’s 10th hotel opened. It will be the brand’s third in New Zealand alongside Queenstown and Wellington. QT Auckland is expected to be open in 2020.

QT Auckland will exist following the conversion of the building at 4 Viaduct Harbour and once open, will offer over 150 rooms, a new dining concept and bar and multiple meeting and conference spaces. Designer Nic Graham – who also designed the recently opened Atura Adelaide – has been tasked with envisaging the brand’s quirky interior layout.

Event Hospitality and Entertainment CEO Jane Hastings said she was excited at having secured a management contract for a QT hotel in Auckland.

“Our partnership with Russell Property Group and Lockwood Property Group, together with our talented team of QT creatives, will ensure a QT Auckland experience that will carve a place of its own in the fabric of the city”.

“The decision to convert 4 Viaduct Harbour Avenue to a hotel was an easy one; the strategic harbourside location combined with the unique footprint of the existing building makes this one of the best conversion opportunities available,” said Russell Property Group Director, Brett Russell.
