The brand new luxury Sequoia villas will complement South Australia’s Mount Lofty House.

The planned $14 million redevelopment of Mount Lofty House, MGallery by Sofitel in South Australia has entered its final phase, with AccorHotels unveiling a new “ultra-luxury” boutique hotel, named “Sequoia” to sit adjacent.

Comprising a collection of 15 luxury villas, the newbuild will sit on the front escarpment of Mount Lofty Estate overlooking the Piccadilly Valley. Each villa will feature a private balcony, fireplace and views from every room including the bathroom and bedroom.

The new property comes as an addendum to the refurbishment of Mount Lofty House itself, due to be complete in February 2019. As part of the works on the main property, AccorHotels has refurbished all existing rooms, transforming each into a suite, while also carrying out upgrades to Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant, introducing the Stables Day Spa and adding a marquee entryway featuring elements of the property’s heritage of more than 170 years.

Mount Lofty House GM Jesse Kornoff was unable to conceal his excitement for the new Sequoia villas, saying it would add an entirely new level of guest experience to the estate.

“The Sequoia development will rival some of the best boutique hotels in Australia and together with the refurbishment of the rooms at Mount Lofty House, we are confident that Mount Lofty Estate is going to become a destination in its own right.”

Sequoia’s opening will mark the overall completion, slated for mid-2019.
