Auckland's best seafood: Fish Restaurant

Fish, Auckland’s newest waterfront dining destination, has opened at Hilton Auckland.

A partnership between Hilton Auckland and the Nourish Group, Fish is headed by renowned New Zealand chef Simon Gault and his protégé of 16 years Shane Yardley.

Fish offers the best New Zealand seafood and local produce, with an emphasis on sustainable and organic products. Making the most of the restaurant’s elevated waterfront position and breath-taking harbour views, Fish features a large outdoor dining area and gas fire place, floor to ceiling windows and warm timber tones throughout.

According to Hilton, Fish is a celebration of New Zealand’s finest and freshest seafood, with the restaurant menu offering a wide range of intricately created taste combinations that extend beyond Fish to include grass fed beef, New Zealand venison and free range organic chicken.

“Fish is another exciting partnership between Hilton and the Nourish Group and represents a new era in dinning at Hilton Auckland,” said Hilton Auckland and Hilton Lake Taupo General Manager, Chris Partridge.

“Building on our successful partnership at Hilton Lake Taupo with the award winning Bistro Lago, offering a relaxed atmosphere, yet premium service and food, Fish will provide world-class dining for locals and guests in a location that truly showcases the best of Waitemata Harbour.

“Under the creative direction of Simon Gault and the management of Shane Yardley, Fish is destined to become one of Auckland’s premier dining destinations,” he said.

Under the direction of Nourish Group Executive Chef Simon Gault, Restaurant Chef Shane Yardley has created a dynamic and mouth watering menu that takes the finest Fish from our shores and around the world and creates dishes that will excite the palate and enthrall the eye.

“We are delighted to bring to Auckland a seafood dining experience with a twist,” said Nourish Group founder Richard Sigley. “Fish located at the Hilton will add another dimension to Auckland’s restaurant scene.”

Fish also caters to the growing demand for share plates and communal dining, offering an extensive tapas menu only available at the communal “sharing table”. Located centrally in the restaurant the “sharing table” is where guests can enjoy a meal of Spanish inspired tapas, served on custom made black slate platters.
