Nestled deep within the Green Square Urban Regeneration Area in Sydney, rapidly growing boutique brand Veriu Hotels has turned the first sod on its newest location on the outskirts of the city CBD.

Developed in partnership with property developer and fund manager Folkestone, the 144-room and studio newbuild – Veriu’s first hotel to grow from the ground up, is on track to open in the latter half of 2019. The property will cater to both short and long-term guests with both hotel rooms and more self-contained studio suite accommodations.

The new Veriu in Alexandria, on the way to Sydney Airport, is the brand’s fifth property in Sydney and will join a network already consisting of properties in Broadway, Surry Hills, Camperdown and Randwick, with further new locations in Sydney Central, Elizabeth Bay and a second in Surry Hills, all dotted around the city edge and all opening over the next 12 months.

Guest features at the new Veriu include a lobby lounge, restaurant and bar boasting menus curated from local produce as well as fitness and business centres. Direct access to the burgeoning Green Square Town Centre and the Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Veriu Hotels Co-Director Rhys Williams said construction beginning at yet another new property was an exciting development for the company.

“As Sydney’s infrastructure continues to develop there is a need for a quality accommodation option in this area to service business and leisure guests in close proximity to the CBD, sporting and entertainment facilities and the airport,” Williams said.
