Hilton has introduced the first branded residences in Papua New Guinea with the opening of Hilton Port Moresby Residences, the business reported on Friday.

Under a management agreement with Star Mountain Plaza Ltd (SMPL), Hilton will manage the newly built Residences alongside the Hilton Port Moresby Hotel, which is already in operation.

“We’re privileged to be partnering with Star Mountain Plaza once again to expand Hilton’s presence in Port Moresby,” said Hilton Area Vice President and Head Of Australasia, Paul Hutton.

“We are deeply committed to Papua New Guinea and are thrilled to now offer travellers visiting the area even more accommodation choices and flexibility when they stay with Hilton.”

The Residences will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, that have been designed to meet the needs of an extended stay.

Each apartment features a fully-equipped kitchen and balcony, while the two- and three-bedrooms feature an ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom.

Hilton Port Moresby Residences also boasts an outdoor pool and sundeck, fitness centre, in-room dining, a Hubworks coworking community and retail space.

Host restaurant offers day-to-night dining as well as a ‘grab and go’ offering.

“The grand opening is the culmination of many months of hard work and collaboration with city officials to bring Hilton Port Moresby Residences to life,” said Hilton Port Moresby Hotel and Residences General Manager, Ryan Mikkelson.

“It is incredibly rewarding to have the unwavering support of the community, our owners and local leadership, and we want to thank them for helping to make this project possible.”
