Australian hotel group Meriton Suites has expanded its luxury offering to two new states with the opening of properties in Canberra and Melbourne.
The owner-operator’s investment of over AU$400 million sees the development of three new apartment-style-suite hotels, including its 16th property in New South Wales.

“Our investment into these new markets is a clear demonstration of our confidence in the continued growth of the domestic and international inbound markets, and the ongoing demand for luxury apartment-style hotels for the modern traveller.”
Canberra was the first of the three locations to launch, with the 280-room hotel – designed by Fender Katsalidis, MONA and Australia 108 – opening its doors on August 19.
A 229-key property opened in Liverpool, New South Wales, on September 23, while a Melbourne hotel with 378 spacious rooms opened just a few days later on September 26.
Each of the new hotels feature one-, two- and three-bedroom suites with king-sized beds, kitchen, internal laundry, contemporary bathroom, all-hours fitness centre, an indoor heated swimming pool, spa and sauna.
