Hyatt Regency Sydney General Manager Jane Lyons accepts the 2022 award for top Business Hotel

The countdown is on to the 2023 HM Awards, with nominations now open to determine the top properties, people and projects in the region.

HM caught up with Hyatt Regency Sydney General Manager, Jane Lyons, to discuss the 2022 HM Awards Business Hotel of the Year win.

Tell us about the award win and what it meant to Hyatt Regency Sydney.

We were delighted to be recognised as Australia’s top Business Hotel for 2022. We are extremely proud of the work our team does to provide exemplary service for guests and for the memorable experiences we create alongside our wonderful clients.

It’s not only a delight to be recognised by our peers as excelling in our field, but it also gives staff morale a boost as we celebrate achievements and recognise the remarkable work they do both at the hotel and in our wider hospitality community.

Do you feel that the award helped raise awareness of its suitability as a business hotel within the industry?

We certainly utilise this accolade in our communications. It helps us to reinforce our appeal as a hub for business travel alongside the physical location, facilities and world-class service we offer.

Why should someone enter the award?

It’s great to take a retrospective look at the hard work and all we have accomplished, as well as to celebrate successes both in-house and with our peers.

It’s also a welcomed opportunity to exude optimism and honour the hard work and commitment that goes into operating Australia’s largest upscale hotel.

Any tips for those thinking of entering?

Don’t be shy, profile the remarkable work that you do with an open and honest approach.

Anything else you’d like to add?

We look forward to celebrating our staff and the wider hospitality industry through this year’s awards programme
