Expressions of interest are being sought for a prime land development site to establish a landmark food, agribusiness and/or nature-based tourism project in South East Queensland’s commercial hotspot.

A pristine 45ha expanse of rural land is available for development in Caboolture, one of Moreton Bay’s Principal Activity Centres, just a short distance from the Caboolture CBD and Caboolture Railway Station and located 30 minutes north of Brisbane Domestic and International airports, with easy access to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast via the Bruce Highway.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery envisages the site attracting visionary individuals or organisations seeking opportunities in food, agribusiness and/or nature-based tourism linked to Council’s Tourism Opportunity Plan and goal for Moreton Bay to become a $40 billion economy by 2041.

“By converting grazing land into an agri-tourism and/or nature-based tourism destination, we’re looking to showcase Moreton Bay’s commitment to environmental sustainability by raising awareness amongst residents and visitors on the importance of protecting and preserving our natural environment including our future wetland project.”

“To contribute to Moreton Bay’s goals, we invite investors to join us in this exciting venture where their investment not only yields financial returns but also makes a meaningful contribution to our economic and community development, cultural enrichment, and environmental sustainability,” Mayor Flannery said.

Growing resident and tourist populations offer a strong consumer catchment for this development site. Approximately 400,000 people reside within a convenient 30-minute drive, together with an expected 70,000 people to move into Waraba (formerly Caboolture West) over the next 20 years.  Additionally, Moreton Bay is in the centre of South East Queensland’s 3.8 million residents, with 2.1 million people living in the City of Moreton Bay and adjoining council areas.

“Moreton Bay’s billion-dollar tourism industry is on the rise, with 4.3 million annual visitors, more than double the total visitor numbers to Noosa, is home to Australia’s newest NRL team – the mighty Dolphins, and we’re a host venue for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Mayor Flannery said.

This development site located at 94-142 Lower King Street, Caboolture, Queensland is for lease by Expression of Interest closing 2pm Thursday 28 September 2023. More information, including access to an Information Memorandum available via www.eprocure.com.au/moretonbay
