New Zealand hotels will have their moment to shine at the 2023 HM Awards with the addition of four new property categories specific to the region.

For the first time, the HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, presented by Sealy Posturepedic, will recognise the top performers across a variety of segments in the New Zealand market.

In previous years, New Zealand hotels could enter the awards for New Zealand Hotel of the Year and Regional Property of the Year, but in 2023, they can now enter the following categories:

-New Zealand Boutique Hotel

-New Zealand Midscale Hotel

-New Zealand Upscale Hotel

-New Zealand Luxury Hotel

Hotels across all areas of New Zealand can enter the category that is appropriate to their segment.

Now in its 21st year, the annual HM Awards are a highlight on the social calendar of the hotel, hospitality and tourism sectors, with excellence to be recognised in more than 40 categories.

“Over the past 20 years, we have recognised hundreds of New Zealand properties, departments and executives and I’m excited this year we are able to add more Aotearoa categories to the HM Awards as the industry continues to grow,” said HM Awards Chief Judge, Founder and HM Magazine Editor-In-Chief, James Wilkinson.

“It’s an exciting time for the New Zealand hotel industry and we are excited to award even more of Aotearoa’s finest.”

Entries for the awards are open now until 5pm August 30, 2023.

The winners will be announced at the annual gala event which takes place at The Star Event Centre, Sydney on Friday November 24, 2023.
