Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts

Pro-invest Group has signed a franchise agreement with IHG Hotels and Resorts to open a new Hotel Indigo in Sydney’s inner east suburb of Potts Point.

The announcement, shared exclusively to HM, comes ahead of the 14th Asia Pacific Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE), which takes place in Adelaide on May 3-4.

Following the purchase of the property – the former Larmont Sydney by Lancemore – in February 2023, it is due to undergo a multi-million-dollar renovation before opening in the fourth quarter of this year as Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point.

“We purchased this property knowing we had the opportunity to bring it to life in a whole new way for guests and the local community,” said Pro-invest Group CEO, Asia Pacific, Jan Smits.

“With our multi-million-dollar renovation, and rebrand to Hotel Indigo, the next chapter of this hotel’s history is being written.

The 105-room hotel, led by Hotel Manager Caitlin Walter and her team, will reflect the local history and culture of the area with art deco tributes and the brand’s signature storytelling.

“The hotel’s location puts it front and centre of Sydney City Council’s revitalisation programme and the re-energising of the areas’ 24-hour economy,” Smits added.

“The resurgence of this neighbourhood promises to revive the energy it’s been so famous for, and our team can’t wait to be a part of that.”

Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point will be the fourth Hotel Indigo in Australia, and the third in the Pro-invest portfolio, following the recent signing of Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders and the opening of Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre last year.

Pro-invest Group is IHG’s largest franchise partner in Australasia. IHG Hotels and Resorts Managing Director – Australasia and Pacific, Matt Tripolone, highlighted the importance of the partnership with Pro-invest Group in the brand’s growth story.

“The collaboration between Pro-invest Group and IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to flourish, with the Hotel Indigo brand gaining significant momentum across Australasia and globally,” Tripolone said.

“IHG is enjoying its largest-ever period of growth in the region, with numerous openings under brands including InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection, voco, Crowne Plaza and the Holiday Inn brand family. As part of this growth, we’re excited to welcome the next member of the Hotel Indigo family right here in Sydney.”
