TFE Hotels has appointed South Australian Katie Obst to the General Manager position at Vibe Hotel Adelaide.

Obst’s appointment to her first pre-opening General Manager role comes after 10 years at TFE Hotels, the past four of which have been spent at the helm of Adina Apartment Hotel Adelaide Treasury.

The 123-room new-build Vibe hotel, which opened on March 1, marks the brand’s entry into South Australia. It completes the Flinders East Precinct – a 20-year project by developers GuavaLime.

“It’s been exciting to launch our homegrown Vibe brand to the Adelaide market and welcome our first guests at the hotel in recent weeks,” Obst said.

“I am so honoured to help bring it to life and invite people to experience it for themselves. From our incredible location which affords views across to the Adelaide Hills, to our thoughtful design – not least of all a suspended swimming pool and stunning open plan bathrooms. I know people will be charmed by Vibe Adelaide’s sophisticated urban appeal and inherently local character at every turn.”

Obst has worked in a variety of roles at TFE Hotels including in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia including as Reservations Manager, Duty Manager and Hotel Manager positions. She held a leadership role at Melbourne’s Savoy Hotel on Little Collins; led the full refurbishment program at Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne Northbank; and was part of the launch team at Travelodge Hotel Hobart Airport.
