Melbourne-based boutique accommodation provider, Punthill Apartment Hotels, will introduce a unique serviced apartment-style offering as part of southwest Sydney development, The Liverpool by Fyve.

Construction of the landmark project is now officially underway following a ground-breaking ceremony led by Sydney-based property developer, FYVE, on November 18.

Fyve Co-Founders, Amen Zoabi and Khalil Hafza, officiated the ceremony and were joined by Chris Kelly, General Manager of Binah, the project’s construction partner, and Ned Mannoun, Mayor and Mazhar Hadid, Deputy Mayor of the Liverpool City Council.

With 16 hotels across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Punthill’s apartment accommodation caters to a broad range of travellers, including leisure, business, relocation, groups and extended stays.

Zoabi said Punthill is the “perfect fit” for the project.

“We’re incredibly excited to be working with Punthill, because we’ve studied their product and service offering and believe it will be a perfect fit for what we’re trying to achieve at The Liverpool,” he said.

The Rothelowman-designed project, at 26 Elizabeth Street, will feature 193 apartments, a hotel, 6,500sqm of commercial space, and ground-floor retail stores.

Standing at 34 storeys, it will be the tallest DA-approved development in Liverpool and is expected to become a recognisable landmark in south-western Sydney.

“We want to give visitors to south-west Sydney a first-class experience, so they can truly appreciate the delights this wonderful city has to offer,” said Zoabi.

“At The Liverpool they will find boutique hotel accommodation mixed with unique food and beverage-oriented retail spaces on the ground floor – not to mention countless other options within minutes of the precinct.”

Zed Sanjana, CEO of Punthill’s parent company, Veriu Group, spoke to the need for accommodation in Liverpool’s CBD to cater to the influx of travellers when the $5.3 billion Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport opens in 2026.

“Liverpool is a growing hotspot on the Sydney travel map, with a thriving multicultural food scene, an increasing business and commercial presence, and a very bright future on the doorstep of the new international airport,” said Sanjana.

“For these reasons, and many others, we can’t wait to add Punthill Liverpool to our growing portfolio and we expect it to be a resounding success as the number of travellers to the south-western Sydney region exponentially increases over the next decade.”
