Minor Hotels is set to overhaul in-room technology and entertainment through a multi-year deal with Foxtel.

More than 50 properties and 7,000 rooms will be upgraded to Foxtel’s new Business iQ platform, giving guests access to premium linear channels, an on-demand content library with over 30,000 hours of entertainment, and the ability to cast content to their in-room TV.

A Foxtel Business partner for many years now, Minor Hotels says it aims to offer guests “versatile and up-to-date” in-room entertainment.

“The modern traveller expects the latest in-room technology and a robust entertainment offering, which is why we are thrilled to be upgrading this partnership to the new Business iQ platform which will see guests have even more interaction, engagement and choice,” said Minor Hotels Australia and New Zealand Chief Operating Officer, Craig Hooley.

Minor Hotels will also have the ability to customise the platform to display its branding and allow guests access to services such as in-room dining and restaurant bookings.

”We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Minor Hotels to bring Australia’s biggest sports and world-class entertainment to the tens of thousands of guests staying at their properties every year,” said Foxtel Group, Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Delany.

“We are huge believers in our Business iQ product, and this has been reinforced by the faith that Craig and his team have put in us by upgrading to the Business iQ platform into the future.”
