Key promotions at Nesuto

Hotel and apartments brand Nesuto has promoted John Bristowe to Director of Operations Australia and New Zealand. 

He will oversee the operations of all Nesuto’s Australia and New Zealand properties, supporting property managers day to day, and implementing guest service and operating standards across the group. 

Bristowe joined Nesuto in September 2018 and has played an important role in restructuring the group’s New Zealand business.

Nesuto has also appointed Nikita Beresnev as Commercial Director Australia and New Zealand.

Nikita joined the business in September 2018 as Director of Revenue Australia and New Zealand, and is the main point of contact for Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, including social, and Distribution for Nesuto.  

Meanwhile, Lee Johnson has been promoted to Human Resources and Training Manager Australia and New Zealand. He will be responsible for all HR matters across Australia and New Zealand, training, and development opportunities, and assisting with mentoring team members.

Lee joined Nesuto in early 2019 as Learning and Development Manager and Relief Hotel Manager, and has held leadership positions across Australia and New Zealand. He created the Nesuto’s brand signature service ethos and in-house training program, Make the Call, to improve guest experiences.  

Daiwa Living Nesuto CEO, Mark Ronfeldt, praised the team for their work throughout the pandemic.

GM appointed at Parkroyal Beach Road

The recently renovated Parkroyal Beach Road, Singapore welcomes a new General Manager, Kung Teong Wah.

Bringing over 30 years of experience in Asia and Singapore’s hospitality scene, Teong Wah started his career as a Chef, and his most recent role was as Cluster General Manager with Millennium Hotels and Resorts. He has also worked with IHG in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia over the course of 23 years, including as General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Batam.

“The uplifted and refreshed Parkroyal on Beach Road is recognised for its local connectivity and service that is close to the heart,” said Teong Wah.

Edgewater Lake Wānaka GM resigns

Across the Tasman, Edgewater – Lake Wānaka is preparing to bid farewell to General Manager Catherine Bone, who is resigning after three and a half years with the business.

She returns to the UK later this year to be closer to family.

After guiding the hotel through the busy 2019 period, Bone led the team through the challenges of the pandemic and ongoing recovery.

In conjunction with the Edgewater Board, Bone has advanced planning for a major refurbishment programme, which is due to commence in April/May 2023. 

Chairman of the Board, Andy Macfarlane, praised Bone for her dedication to the business.

“Catherine’s hard work leaves the hotel ideally reposition for the benefit of our family of NZ owners and future guest,” he said.

“Catherine also leaves a legacy of having created a great team of staff, who she has shepherded through the pandemic.”

She will finish her role at the end of October 2022 and will work with the board to ensure a smooth transition to a new General Manager.
