Event Hospitality and Entertainment has signed an agreement with Austin Hotels Group to manage the hotel formerly known as Radisson Hotel and Suites Sydney, rebranding it as Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel.
Located in Sydney’s CBD, close to Darling Harbour, the 98-room property has remained closed of late while it undergoes an extensive refurbishment of the apartments and studio rooms, restaurant, bar, and conference rooms. The hotel also includes a gym and swimming pool on site.
Event will rebrand the hotel ahead of reopening on August 8, 2022.
The Rydges property is Austin Hotels Group’s first hotel in the market.
“As this is our first hotel industry investment in Australia, we were looking for a local Australian brand that had a strong domestic loyalty footprint and that would work well with the elevated offering that the renovation had created,” said Austin Hotels Group’s Yu Dongxiao.

Event Hospitality and Entertainment’s Director of Hotel and Resorts Operations, Norman Arundel, said he looks forward to bringing the property to life.

Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel is the latest in a host of recent signings by Event including Rydges Perth King Square, The Miller and Rydges Rotorua.
