JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa is inviting guests to give back to the less fortunate in the local community through a new partnership with local not-for-profit organisation St. John’s Gold Coast Crisis Centre.

From May, guests and associates can opt to help the centre with activities such as lunch service, packing school lunch packs and sorting food hampers and clothing donations.

The partnership is part of Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy – a program run by nearly 100 of its hotels in the Asia Pacific, that allows guests to give back to local communities and the environment during their stay.

“Our guests are more conscious of their personal impact on the environment and the destinations they visit,” said The JW Marriott Gold Coast General Manager, Ravinder Dhesi.

“Our partnership with St. John’s Gold Coast Crisis Centre provides an excellent opportunity for our guests to connect with the local communities, allowing them to give back while staying with us and bring truly meaningful experiences to their travel.”

The program involves a 15-minute professional introduction provided by the St. John’s General Manager, educating guests on issues often faced by the less fortunate within the community such as domestic violence, mental health struggles and drug and alcohol addiction, before 45 minutes of volunteer time. On completion, guests are presented with a cobranded Certificate of Appreciation for their work.
