Hilton has opened its fourth DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in New Zealand, in the small rural town of Karaka.

The 122-room DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka opened on Saturday March 26 with much excitement ahead of the impending arrival of holidaymakers from Australia and visa-waiver countries to New Zealand on April 12.

“To say we’re excited to welcome guests from near and far to DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka is an understatement,” said DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka Hotel Manager, Fabien Dewelle.

“Our warm welcome and signature hospitality is a perfect fit for the natural pastoral charm of Karaka and the ‘country home’ feeling of our new DoubleTree by Hilton property. We want our guests to feel at home when they stay with us.”

The Karaka hotel, situated 20 kilometres south of Auckland’s CBD, is owned by New Zealand Bloodstock and is the only international-branded, full-service property in the region.

The property was designed by Pacific Architecture, and features state-of-the-art facilities including signature restaurant Ethereal, lobby bar, outdoor heated swimming pool and 24-hour gym.

Ethereal, which is helmed by Chef Mark Southon, champions local produce and has partnered with local suppliers to fulfil its paddock to plate ethos.

Each room is kitted out with 55” HD TVs and therapeutic rain showers.

For events, the hotel offers the Vela Room with floor-to-ceiling windows and meetings can be held at two fully equipped meeting rooms.

“DoubleTree by Hilton prides itself on offering guests a double dose of comfort with an uplifting space where guests can unwind, as well as a broad range of amenities and warm, friendly service,” said Hilton Area Vice President and Head of Australasia, Paul Hutton.

“The opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka signifies the trust that our partners have in Hilton and we’re committed to bringing the right brand, to the right locations, at the right time to cater to the evolving needs of our guests.”
