Ingenia Holiday Parks has introduced Eco Pavilion Pods at its Byron Bay holiday park to offer travellers a luxurious, environmentally-friendly stay.

Ingenia says it’s the first tourism park operator to launch the pods on a commercial level.

“Our Byron Bay Eco Pavilion Pods are the first of their kind, designed to the highest standards of Passive House Design, with reduced noise levels and thermal efficiency,” said Ingenia Holiday Parks General Manager Tourism, Matthew Young.

“Made with 90 per cent Australian premium materials – 70 per cent of which are fully recyclable – the Pods have been designed to complement the natural landscape of Byron Bay and offer an immersive experience with natural materials and finishes.”

Ingenia partnered with Gold Coast-based modular home builder ModnPods to deliver five Eco Pods, fitted with two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and deck, as well as quality glazing, filtered fresh air and continuous insulation.

“The Eco Pavilion Pods provide a quiet haven for those looking to minimise their carbon footprint without forgoing the luxuries,” Young added.

Today’s travellers are increasingly conscious of the impact that their trips are having on the environment. According to the 2021 Sustainable Travel Report by Booking.com, 72 per cent of Australians want to stay in sustainable accommodation.

“The pandemic has made many travellers reflect on ways to not only resume their travels but do things better,” Young said.

“Our Eco Pavilion Pods offer the chance to enjoy a luxury stay with the peace of mind of significantly lower carbon emissions. Low energy consumption, emissions and waste enable guests to greatly reduce the environmental footprint of their stay.”

The pods can accommodate two adults and two children, with the added deck designed for entertaining visitors.
