Quest Apartment Hotels has revealed it will be the tenant of a new hotel currently under construction in Brisbane’s Spring Hill.

Quest’s Head of Growth and Capital Strategy, James Shields, said the new Quest on Wickham Terrace will bring 81-rooms to Brisbane’s inner north, with the hotel occupying 5 levels of the 15-storey mixed use development by Barber Property Group, which will include a premium medical facility called Wickham Private.

He said Quest will provide a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartment style hotel rooms, as well as a ground level reception, business lounge, conferencing facility and rooftop pool. Retail, food and beverage offerings will also be available upon completion.

Shields said he expects Quest on Wickham Terrace to service a broad range of traveller segments including a large medical community, with numerous health providers already in the area and Wickham Private coming soon.

“Spring Hill has a significant medical fraternity with Brisbane Private Hospital, St Andrews War Memorial Hospital and numerous medical specialists in the area, and Quest on Wickham Terrace will be well placed to service this market,” he said.

“We also envisage that there will be some pre- and post-operative guests who choose to stay at the new hotel, in particular those travelling to the area for surgery and wanting a little extra time to recuperate.”

“In addition to these ongoing and immediate opportunities, with the 2032 Olympics secured, Brisbane is set to experience an infrastructure and investment boom, so we’re also predicting a consistent increase in demand at Quest on Wickham Terrance over the coming years, providing long term stability to the prospective franchisee operator and our development partner alike.”

Barber Property Group Director, Paul Barber, said the developer was proud to partner with Quest Apartment Hotels to deliver a fully integrated medical offering, the largest of its kind in Queensland.

“We are pleased to announce this partnership with Quest, which sees the final piece of the puzzle in the offering of medical consultation, surgery and recuperation in a single blue-chip location,” he said.

“Quest on Wickham Terrace will exclusively offer patients of Wickham Private comfort, convenience, privacy and the ability to have friends or family close by; this holistic offering is really raising the bar in healthcare in Australia,” Barber said.

Quest on Wickham Terrace is the sixth property Quest Apartment Hotels has announced in 2021 and follows the announcement of Quest Blacktown and Quest Truganina last month, but Shields said there is more to come in the new year.

“We’ve never been busier and have a record number of projects set to announce in 2022 in Australia,” he said.

Barber Property Group announced Wickham Private in May 2020, and construction commenced in October 2021, with completion expected in November 2023.
