Sofitel Adelaide features 251 guest rooms, each with a comfortable Sealy bed.

You’ve just finished supplying luxury beds to Sofitel Adelaide. Tell us about how smooth the ordering process was for Sealy and the discussions with Accor on what the hotel was looking for?

This was a very protracted negotiation which took over six weeks to negotiate [and] after lots of back and forth, we finally got there.

How was the production and delivery and installation process for Sealy?

Installation was over a six week period throughout the months of August and September. We had started production of these pieces much earlier to make sure we had them ready when the hotel needed them. Installation was delayed a couple of times due to delays in construction.

Our team found it quite challenging to carry out the installation while having to not only wear full construction PPE (including steel cap safety boots, long sleeves, high vis etc) but also having to be fully masked up most of the time.

What can you tell us about the product that was ordered and the models installed.

Produced out of Sealy’s SA bedding plant, Sofitel was supplied the ‘My Sofitel’ mattress built to Accor specifications. We also supplied them a base in a fabric to match the trim around the headboards in the rooms.

We had to source this outside our normal fabric supplier. It was a leather look fabric in Charcoal Grey. The fabric was fully tested by our Research and Development team in Brisbane to ensure it met all our standards for strength and durability.
