The initiative grants Choice Privileges members four cents per litre off their petrol.

Discounts of four cents per litre at United petrol stations can now be enjoyed by members of the Choice Privileges loyalty program under a new partnership between the service station brand and Choice Hotels Asia-Pac.

The deal is valid at any of nearly 400 United Petroleum’s stations around Australia and is aimed at further improving value for members of Choice’s loyalty program. The initiative is also in line with the company’s championing of the ‘long weekend’ ideal and the upcoming Christmas holiday period which each year sees thousands of Australians hit the road for their summer break.

Recent research into the topic by Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, albeit commissioned during various state lockdowns and border closures, found 80% of Australians were opting for a road trip for their holidays in 2021.

Choice Hotels and United Petroleum are celebrating the great long weekend road trip.

Choice Hotels Asia Pacific’s Senior Director of Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Kari Hunter, said the partnership with United Petroleum was a natural one.

“Australians want to get on the road and support regional tourism so a partnership with United Petroleum makes perfect sense, allowing us to give our customers rewards and benefits that help them go further as they explore Australia,” Hunter said.

United Petroleum Chief Loyalty Officer, Judith Russell, said it was fantastic to be partnering with Choice Hotels Asia-Pac in time for the busy Christmas period.

“One of the best ways to see our country is on a road trip and we’re proud to be powering Aussies as they get away,” Russell said.
