The Langham Gold Coast Director of Sales and Marketing, Nick Clarke.

Langham Hospitality Group has recruited experiencing industry marketing professional, Nick Clarke, as its new Director of Sales and Marketing for its forthcoming opening on the Gold Coast.

The Langham, Gold Coast will sit within the tallest of three towers that make up The Jewel Complex, a beachfront development which continues to be developed in Surfers Paradise and remains on track to open in 2022.

The Langham Gold Coast will feature 169 rooms across a 49-storey tower.

In his new role, Clarke will oversee marketing efforts for short and longer-term accommodation and facilities at the new development. Since moving to the Gold Coast in 2009, Clarke has held similar roles with Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach before shifting from Accor to Marriott International as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast.

While with Marriott International, Clarke was part of the senior leadership team and played a major role in the property’s COVID-19 business recovery strategy. His appointment at The Langham, Gold Coast follows the appointment earlier this year of John O’Shea as General Manager at the burgeoning beachfront resort.

Rooms will reflect a ‘coast meets city’ colour scheme inspired by local flora and fauna.

“We are excited to have Nick join us, especially with his wealth of experience in the MICE and Leisure market,” O’Shea said.

“I am confident that he will be an asset supporting the hotel in its pre-opening stage and driving The Langham’s Sales and Marketing success.”

The Langham, Gold Coast will consist of 169 luxury hotel rooms from Levels 3-20 in the tallest of three towers comprising the Jewel complex, while a further 170 serviced apartments will be offered from Levels 22-49. The newest addition to the group builds on the group’s Australian portfolio, which currently comprises two luxury hotels in Sydney and Melbourne.
