The best wine producers in NSW have been named after a year of significantly disrupted production and distribution.

Some of the leading wine producers in NSW were celebrated for excellence late last week at the 2021 NSW Sommelier’s Wine List Awards at a ceremony hosted by Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC.

The event, run by NSW Wine and supported by strategic partners Destination NSW, Wine Depot and the Restaurant and Catering Association, took place at Government House in Sydney, with many of the state’s best drops showcased and appraised.

After diligent evaluation by judges, including Gault&Millau GM, Dane Richards; wine educator Ned Goodwin and Riedel Spiegelau Nachtmann Australia MD, Mark Baulderstone, 38 finalists were crowned 2021 NSW Wine Stars.

The NSW Sommelier’s Wine Awards took place in Sydney last week.

Winners from the evening included:

Best NSW Wine List in a Regional NSW venue (small) – David Lowe from The Zin House, Mudgee

Best NSW Wine List in a Regional NSW venue (large) – Pete Cutcliffe from Bill’s Fishhouse, Port Macquarie
