DoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort is the first property in the country to offer overwater bungalows.

Hilton has made its debut in New Caledonia, opening its first property in the tiny French territory in the South Pacific under its DoubleTree by Hilton brand.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort is the company’s fifth presence in the South Pacific and is an upgrade of the former L’Escapade Resort, which closed for nearly a year in order for the conversion and resort-wide renovation to take place.

DoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort features 64 keys.

The resort is surrounded by a 200 hectare marine reserve listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the only property in New Caledonia to offer overwater bungalows as an accommodation category.

DoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort features 64 keys and is accessible via a 25-minute boat ride from Noumea. Further room categories include beach and garden villas decorated in a contemporary style with wood thatch roofing.

The resort features an outdoor pool and watersports facility.

Additional guest facilities include the L’Escapade seafood buffet restaurant, with further dining and refreshments available at Le Sunset Bar and La Boussole Beach. Guests can also access a fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, meeting rooms and water sports facility offering both motorised and non-motorised options.
