The body scanner is in place at Club Wyndham Kirra Beach Reception.

Common areas at 32 Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Fiji have been fitted with thermal body scanners in an effort to boost guest confidence in health and safety during their holiday.

Utilising precision integrated Omron technology, the body scanners instantly detect abnormal body temperatures across 16 points of upper body areas inside 1-2 seconds. The devices, supplied by Smartech, take body temperature measurements on a contactless basis using an anti-glare display with integrated HD camera, utilising both thermal and distance sensors.

In addition, an inbuilt environmental thermometer delivers an accurate and consistent reading every time, eliminating human error while maintaining guest privacy.

Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific Senior Vice President Operations, Warren Cullum, said the health and safety of guests, staff and members is of the most critical of importance to the company.

Scanners read 16 points across the body to detect abnormal temperatures and alerting staff to any concerns.

“As we navigate life through a pandemic, we want guests to feel confident while on holiday, Cullum said.

“The installation of these scanners forms part of our comprehensive and stringent hygiene protocols, which are in place across all Club Wyndham South Pacific resorts.

“Having a system that is less invasive than hand held thermometers was important to us. We chose this solution because it offered a non-invasive, friendly approach, and we felt it provides the most accurate temperature reading.

“These scanners work to assist guests as they walk through our resorts. Families can check their temperature at any time in our resort lobby without any contact,” Cullum added.

The body scanning technology has also been fitted at Wyndham Destinations corporate offices throughout the region.
