Next Hotel Melbourne features 255 rooms

Australia will welcome back the Next Hotels label from next month when the brand’s new flagship hotel opens in Melbourne, with a confirmed launch date of 1 March now in the calendar.

Next Hotel Melbourne will make its debut, located within the newbuild 24-storey ’80 Collins’ mixed-use development which will also feature office space and a number of new restaurants, bars and boutique retail options.

The hotel sits within a newbuild mixed-use development on Collins Street.

Accessible from Little Collins Street, the 255-room hotel will feature a number of new food and beverage concepts headed by Melbourne-based chefs, Daniel Natoli and Adrian Li. Anchor restaurant, La Madonna, will feature local produce and regularly changing menus upon its opening from late March. The eatery will also include the ground-floor ‘Ingresso by La Madonna’ café and cocktail bar which will offer a range of drinks and grab-and-go style bites.

The hotel will also offer The Barrel Room cocktail bar which will showcase a wood ageing program for spirits, cocktails and herbal liquors. A co-working style club will offer spaces for solo and collaborative activities, including board meetings or casual gatherings. A fitness centre will also offer personal trainers on-call and the latest workout equipment.

The Barrel Room will feature a wood ageing program for its spirits and liquors.

Rooms will be fitted out with Hunter Lab amenities, Dyson hairdryers and straighteners, espresso coffee machines, cocktail mixing stations and a new way to enjoy in-room dining, which is yet to be revealed.

Next Story Group CEO, Darren Edmonstone, said it was an exciting time for the group’s expansion and that the new hotel will set the benchmark for upscale accommodation in Melbourne.

The Club offers a chilled and relaxed place to meet or work.

“This property is the epitome of our vision for the Next Hotel brand – thoughtful design, exciting food and beverage offerings that challenge the norm and creative ways to come together and stay connected,” he said.

Next Hotel Melbourne will be led by David Ness as General Manager.
