The Darling has become NSW's first hotel independently accredited by Sharecare for its health standards.

Digital health company, Sharecare, has endorsed and verified The Darling Hotel at The Star Sydney as operating to globally recognised and comprehensive guest health and safety standards mandated by the Forbes Travel Guide.

The Sharecare Health Security verification is measured against more than 360 protocols, covering health and hygiene, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, guest experience and communication between guests and team members. Hotels verified under the program are required to maintain standards against irregular and unannounced inspections by accredited Sharecare staff based around the world.

The verification is the first issued to a hotel in NSW, ranking The Darling among an exclusive few to have received the Sharecare Verified with Forbes Travel Guide stamp of approval.

Health measures implemented by The Darling as part of its accreditation include signage and furniture placement to support physical distancing, frequent high-touch point cleaning, contactless processes for guest services including luggage delivery, digital magazines and publications, in-house screening questions and an in-house COVID-19 training module for team members.

The Star Entertainment Group Director of Hotels, Christina Lambert, said she was delighted to have been recognised by Forbes Travel Guide for its health and hygiene efforts.

“Being the first hotel in New South Wales, and among the first globally to receive the Sharecare verification reflects our commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members as well as the world-class service for which The Darling is renowned,” Lambert said.

“We are committed to further developing our procedures to meet ever changing health and safety expectations of local, domestic and, in time, international guests.”
