L-R Carl Amos and Toby Welford.

New Zealand’s high-tech Mi-Pad Hotel Queenstown has welcomed two new members to its management team, with both new additions bringing significant levels of hospitality experience to their new roles.

The hotel has added Carl Amos will take the reins at the hotel as its new General Manager, having moved from Wellington where he led the Partnerships team at Tourism Industry Aotearoa. Amos has also previously spent time based in Fiji and Samoa as Director of Sales with Six Senses and with the old Starwood Hotels, prior to its merger with Marriott International.

In addition, Toby Welford has come on board as the new Operations Manager at Mi-Pad Queenstown. Welford has returned to NZ in 2020 from the United Kingdom where he held roles at Home House in London and Kilworth House Hotel in Leicestershire. A native of the area, Welford has also spent time with Novotel Queenstown Lakeside following his graduation from Queenstown Resort College.

The floor-to-ceiling social wall at Mi-Pad Queenstown is hungry for guests to share their local experiences with others.

Speaking of his new role, Amos said he was excited to be joining the team at Mi-Pad Hotel Queenstown.

“Many Kiwis I speak to are yet to discover this hidden jewel called mi-pad Queenstown,” he said.

“I love telling everyone about our rooftop terrace, a true Queenstown destination in its own right, and our digital story with our MIA App.”
