TFE Hotels has added a new dot to its new Next-Generation Vibe hotel map with the opening this week of Vibe Melbourne, situated inside and above the former Fletcher Jones building in the city’s CBD.
Retaining the original 1873 building’s façade and heritage entrance, the hotel sits inside a new 24-storey glass-fronted tower, with each of the hotel’s 206 rooms guaranteeing guests a proper view.
TFE Hotels Regional General Manager, Stephen Moore, said the hotel offered a unique appeal to staying in, ordering room service and admiring the city.
“Normally, in a hotel of this size – on a corner, in the middle of the CBD – 20 to 40 per cent of rooms would have no view, apart from looking into another building,” he said.
“For a four-star property, it definitely punches well above its weight,” Moore added.
“You see roof top bars and hotels with balconies, but very few with private terraces in the middle of the CBD. For the style of the building, it’s definitely unique.”
Hotel facilities include the St Marks Road Co on-site all-day restaurant and bar, which will open to patrons from 15 September 2020; an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and conference space.
