International verification and compliance register, Bureau Veritas, will work with StayWell Holdings to oversee the implementation of the group’s new brand standards for hygiene and sanitation.

Central to the company’s new standards is a commitment to roll out ‘hospital grade’ cleaning including chemicals designed to kill COVID-19 virus strands, which will be coupled with an increased frequency of cleaning.

Hand sanitiser dispensing stations will be installed in all public spaces including elevators, while each hotel will also actively manage social distancing to ensure hotels are never overcrowded.

Hotel restaurants will see special immunity-boosting items added to menus along with contactless mobile ordering systems deployed to restaurants.

StayWell Hospitality Group President and Director, Simon Wan.

StayWell Hospitality has engaged Bureau Veritas to verify and certify the new standards across its global network, with inspections to be conducted at each hotel under the ‘SafeGuard Assurance Program’ to ensure guests are left with no doubt as to the standard of cleanliness in place. Further independent inspections will be carried out to determine ongoing compliance.

Further hygiene standards including enhanced staff training and human resources will be introduced to bring team members up to speed with the new guidelines.

StayWell Hospitality Group President and Director, Simon Wan, said the new measures were in place to maximise the level of comfort and safety for both travellers and staff.

“Being independently audited by Bureau Veritas to our new standards of hygiene and sanitation continues that tradition into the new world that we are all finding ourselves in. Bureau Veritas certifies that these standards ensure that we are ready to welcome guests back to StayWell properties both locally and around the world, as soon as is possible.”
