Overwhelming popularity of Ovolo Hotels’ recently launched dining innovation ‘Restaurant in Room’ has seen the concept expand to Sydney.

After public demand for the experience saw Ovolo double capacity, the company will open the experience to guests in Sydney at Ovolo Woolloomooloo’s plant-based restaurant, Alibi, with the first seating scheduled for tonight.

The concept allows for traditional operation of the hotel’s restaurant, with social distancing norms observed by placing parties of two within hotel rooms, set up with the full dining room layout. Restaurant In Room is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights between 6-10pm.

Sydney’s offering of Restaurant In Room is slightly different to that of Canberra, with only a five-course dinner on offer instead of a three-course option. Parties of two guests can opt for food only for $130 or to match each course with beverages for an optional $90 in total. This can then be supplemented further by guests opting to stay the rest of the night in their room for an extra $269 if they so choose. Free minibar and breakfast the following morning is included if guests choose to stay the night.

Ovolo’s Restaurant In Room has been a smash hit during its first run in Canberra.

Ovolo Group Food & Beverage Director, Vince Lombino, said he was looking forward to seeing the same level of success for the concept in Sydney.

“We’re all about adapting and evolving. From takeaway concepts with ALT CTRL EAT by Alibi and DELI by Monster, now with Restaurant in Room.

“Canberra’s had a taste of Ovolo’s take on R in R, and they love it! So much so, we have increased booking by double, and with the ease of restrictions, the team is welcoming groups of 4 – 10 as of today,” Lombino added.
