Hilton now allows guests to share their digital keys with up to four other devices.
Hilton Adelaide is now connected to the company’s Digital Key technology.

Hilton Honors members staying at Hilton Adelaide can now use their smartphones as the key to their room after full digital key functionality was switched on at the property for the first time.

Usage of the digital key works in the same way as other equipped hotels, with the key accessible via the Hilton Honors mobile app. The app will continue to offer direction wayfinding and reservation capability at the 377-room hotel. For reservations made directly with the hotel or through the app, guests can select their exact room from a digital floorplan and check-in before requesting a digital key. Users will be notified when their room is ready to access, pressing the digital unlock button once within five feet of their room door.

The implementation of digital key at Hilton Adelaide comes as part of a major investment in connected technology at the hotel which will give users full control over aspects of their room including air-conditioning, blinds and the television. The hotel took delivery of 450 new Smart TVs with casting capability at the end of last year.

Six other Hilton Group properties in the Australasia region have already activated digital key technology, with a significant planned rollout throughout 2020 expected to take this number to 17 by year’s end.

Hilton Adelaide General Manager, Rupert Hallam, said he expects the new convenient tech options will be popular with guests.

“Many of our loyal Honors members are business travellers who are incredibly tech-savvy.

“We are thrilled our hotel is able to offer them this cutting edge Digital Key technology and give them an easier, more convenient stay.”
