Celebrity pastry chef and MasterChef guest judge, Christy Tania.

MasterChef Australia guest judge Christy Tania has been signed by Next Story Group to implement the rollout of its Food and Beverage strategy across all brands operating in Australia.

A trained Ecole Nationale Superieure de La Patisserie pastry chef, Tania is the current owner and head chef at Melbourne’s GLACÉ Dessert Artisanal. Her career also includes stints at Ritz-Carlton Paris, with Guy Savoy in Singapore and Vue De Monde in Melbourne in addition to her guest pastry chef judging duties on Channel 10’s hit cooking program, MasterChef Australia.

In her work with Next Story Group across its Next, Sage and Ink brands, Tania will work on concept development, talent recruitment across the network and optimise food and beverage performance. This will include close liaison with hotel operations heads and General Managers across Asia-Pacific as the group prepares to open its upcoming properties in Next Melbourne and Kafnu St Marks in India.

Next Hotels and Resorts CEO, Darren Edmonstone, said the company was pleased to welcome one of Australia’s best-known chefs on board.

“Her extensive culinary expertise and experience will be an asset in helping us in the transformation and enhancement of our food and beverage offerings at our hotels and Kafnu properties.

We believe that food and beverage can be one of our key differentiators in providing an extraordinary experience as part of exploring a new destination or immersing in a culture or location. Our goal is to create cutting-edge food and beverage concepts that guests can look forward to enjoying and at the same time, raise the bar for culinary excellence within the Group,” Edmonstone said.
