Punthill Apartments will expand into NSW with a new property at West Gosford.

Veriu Group has identified four new suburban opportunity for its Punthill serviced apartment brand which will see the marque open four new properties over the next two years.

Following the acquisition of Punthill last year, the brand has grown considerably and will now open in the Victorian centres of Essendon North, Oakleigh Central and Caroline Springs – three growing areas in the north, east and western outskirts of Melbourne.

Furthermore, the brand will venture into the NSW Central Coast with construction on a West Gosford property due to begin in early 2021. This marks the introduction of the Punthill name outside Victoria for the first time.

Once the four are open, they will take Punthill’s collective network to 18 properties and more than 1,700 keys.

Veriu Group CEO, Zed Sanjana

Veriu Group CEO, Zed Sanjana, said now the group was firmly established on the eastern seaboard of Australia, it made perfect sense for future plans to consider national expansion.

“The logical and natural progression for us is to extend this offering to further suburban and key regional markets as well as other states, particularly South Australia.

“We’re really excited to be adding four new properties to our existing apartment hotels portfolio, each specifically situated to take advantage of their surrounding key corporate catchment areas,” he added.

Punthill Essendon North will feature 40 apartments across studio and one-bedroom layouts, while Caroline Springs, Oakleigh Central and West Gosford will all offer studio, one and two-bedroom configurations across their 80, 55 and 60 apartment inventories respectively. Each apartment will feature a self-contained and equipped kitchen, with laundry facilities ranging from in-room to a communal guest self-service option.

“We see a huge opportunity to become one of Australia’s largest niche hotel operators, while still maintaining a unique and localised feel at each of our properties,” Sanjana added.
