Hospitality and accommodation data firm TravelClick, owned by data giant Amadeus – has introduced a new solution allowing connected partners to access booking and market data on over 27 million home-sharing listings worldwide.

Available now as an add-on to the Demand360 and Rate360 solutions, the new Alternative Accommodations Solution allows users to study a zone as narrow as a postal code for rates and booking data to ensure a hotel remains competitive against all types of accommodations in an area.

The development comes in response to research from Transparent which found the world’s supply of “alternative accommodation” grew by 33 per cent from 2017 to 2018, highlighting the need for hoteliers to be aware of the prices being charged by operators in their local area categorised at alternative, such as Airbnb and similar home-sharing platforms.

TravelClick Senior Vice-President, Business Intelligence, Greg Sheppard, said the solution gives customers relevant, real-time, easy-to-read data with useful and actionable insights.

“The lines are blurring between traditional hotel properties and alternative accommodations as we see large brands entering the home-sharing space and vice versa.

“We believe that hoteliers cannot overlook the pressure of alternative accommodations that are competitive on price, location, convenience and amenities that weigh into consumers’ decision-making.”

The add-on is available for a supplemental fee on top of existing Demand360 or Rate360 solutions.
