Six new hotels featuring innovations dubbed the “Future of Crowne Plaza” have been opened in the US, Europe and China as the brand begins a global rollout of a number of new hallmarks which will reach Australia early next year.

As Crowne Plaza readies for three newbuild hotels in Sydney, Adelaide and Hobart to open in 2020, the six new international flagships have been designed to showcase business-friendly features across public space and in-room including flexible lobby areas with on-demand meeting space and embedded in-room tech areas to allow guests to work and relax in different parts of the room.

Leading the way in the US is the reopened Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter, which recently underwent a significant renovation and refurbishment to install the flexible spaces. In Europe, the Crowne Plaza Paris Republique sees the brand hallmarks fitted internally within a 19th century external façade. Works from local artists are presently being gathered to complete the stylish look.

The first hotel in Europe to offer the distinct room spaces where work, relaxation and sleep are clearly segmented is the new Crowne Plaza Hamburg – City Alster. Crowne Plaza London Heathrow will be next to open with the new standards, also in early 2020.

Lobbies feature flexible meeting space easily adaptable to also suit leisure guests.

In China, Crowne Plaza Shenzen WECC and Crowne Plaza Wuzhen are both centrally located to convention and exhibition centres and will feature the brand’s hallmark of flexible meeting spaces across private meeting rooms and grand banquet halls and ballrooms.

IHG Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Upscale Brands, Eric Lent, said the company was revolutionising business and leisure travel with incredible momentum.

“These openings are a significant step toward our goal to be the first and definitive choice for upscale hotel stays around the world.”

“IHG continues to heavily invest in and innovate our growing Crowne Plaza portfolio,” added Crowne Plaza Vice President, Libby Escolme.

“Our pipeline is stronger than ever and our six new flagships will set the standard for the future of the brand. We can’t wait to welcome business and leisure travellers around the world to experience the new face of Crowne Plaza.”
